Inlet F5X MINI JCW GP3 / CLUBMAN
Power increase JCW GP3: 15-18 HP, 17-20 Nm
Application: MINI F56 JCW GP3 with 306 HP and MINI F54 JCW Clubman with 306 HP
The F5X JCW Eventuri inlet system is a perfect example of our "Total system" principle. It is a sealed system that ensures the turbocharger does not draw hot air from the engine bay, but instead is enriched with a functional air intake in the hood, which forces atmospheric air to flow into the inlet duct. This duct has a larger internal volume than the standard version and also draws air from the factory location above the radiator. Combining the sealed system with the air intake results in lower intake temperatures than with the standard airbox and avoids heat soak, which is a common issue especially with more powerful MINIs. To ensure the smoothest airflow, we use our patented Venturi filter housing, which has an integrated MAF section, providing smooth airflow to the turbocharger.
Difference in the Eventuri system
The F5X JCW Eventuri system utilizes our patented carbon fiber housing, which provides an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbocharger. It's not just another cone filter with a heat shield, but a unique design that utilizes the Venturi effect and maintains laminar flow conditions to reduce turbocharger resistance. More information about the housing design and its operation can be found HERE.
Eventuri F5X Mini JCW GP3 / Clubman Kit

The F5X JCW Eventuri inlet system consists of several components designed to perform specific tasks and made of the highest quality materials.
Each inlet system consists of:
- Carbon fiber Venturi filter housing with integrated MAF tube
- Individually crafted high-flow dry-type filter
- Carbon fiber air intake
- Carbon fiber air intake
- CNC machined MAF adapter
- Laser-cut stainless steel brackets

Cone Filter Housing

The filter housing consists of our custom generation 2 filter, aluminum inlet shield, stainless steel bracket, and integrated MAF section. The carbon fiber shield surrounds the filter mounted in reverse and smoothly shapes the airflow down to the MAF section, which then connects to the factory inlet pipe. This changes the airflow path compared to the factory airbox, where air enters from the front of the airbox, changes direction by 90 degrees to pass through the panel filter, and then changes direction again by 90 degrees to pass through the MAF section. Our system is much more direct, as the airflow enters from the front of the filter housing and moves to the MAF section without sudden changes in direction. The result is a smoother path from the filter to the turbocharger inlet pipe, allowing the turbocharger to work with less resistance.

Eventuri Technology
Our patented filter housing has a smooth reduction in cross-sectional area as it surrounds the filter and narrows down to the pipe. This geometry induces the Venturi effect, where airflow accelerates while maintaining laminar conditions. This can be likened to a large velocity cone - below is a diagram comparing our patented design to a standard intake system. Our custom filters help airflow passing through the housings and allow for even distribution of velocity as airflow exits the housing.

Carbon Fiber Air Intake

The standard inlet system draws air from the grille at the front, above the radiator. The atmospheric air intake holes are relatively small and can lead to intake heat soak, especially in tuned Minis. The standard hood air intake does not supply air directly to the inlet, and since the hood already has 2 cutouts under the air intake, we decided to utilize this feature and redesign the hood air intake. Our intake is a direct replacement for the original part and attaches using the same mounting method. It features 2 intake ramps that guide external air through the existing hood cutouts and into the inlet duct (see below). As the car accelerates, more air flows into the duct, maintaining minimal intake temperatures and avoiding the issue of intake heat soak. The intake has a redesigned profile with a longer upper surface to cover the cutouts, which also provides a more aggressive look. Made from 100% resin-impregnated carbon fiber, the intake provides incredible vehicle aesthetics. To further accentuate the aesthetic features, we applied a flattened carbon fiber weave in a V-shaped pattern to give the profile a symmetrical appearance, which looks great as the intake sits in the middle of the hood.

Using existing hood cutouts - ramps on the carbon fiber intake extend and direct airflow into the duct. Here is the underside of the hood with the intake installed.

Inlet Duct

The standard inlet duct draws air only from the front grille and is very shallow above the front panel. We redesigned the duct to allow airflow from both the front grille and the hood air intake. Additionally, our duct has a much larger internal volume, allowing for freer breathing of the inlet system. To protect against heat from the engine bay, the duct has a flexible rubber edge around the hood underside holes, which seals against the hood when closed. It also has an expandable rubber edge around the filter housing hole, which provides a good seal to the filter and allows for movement with the engine.

Filter Water Drainage
Since we have a direct airflow path to the filter, it is also important to allow water drainage before reaching the filter. To protect against excessive water ingress, we have introduced several features to the inlet components, as follows:
- The top of the intake covers the holes, preventing rain from entering the duct when the car is stationary.
- The intake has 2 flow-directing ramps, which also act as water barriers, forcing water to fall to the bottom of the duct instead of directly moving to the filter area.
- The duct has 2 holes to allow water drainage - above the radiator and the drainage hole before connecting to the filter housing.
- The plane of the duct, at the point of connection to the filter housing, has a wall with a flexible edge attached. This wall prevents water accumulation before directly reaching the filter and the water is drained through an additional drainage hole.
